FELICITY, from Cransley - studying Economics, History, Spanish, Maths
"Sir John Deane’s College has been great in helping me to adjust to the changes between GCSE and A Level. I love the relaxed atmosphere and independence of College life. The History department have been friendly and helpful in all aspects and the lessons are enjoyable."
Time to dive in and get fit!
FANCY getting fit – perhaps losing a little weight into the bargain – while enjoying all the fun of swimming?
The Leisure Centre at Sir John Deane’s College is launching two new Sunday pool classes next month.
Aquablast is a fresh look at aqua aerobics, using technique and equipment to increase workout, while Pilates In The Pool provides swimmers with a more relaxed way of toning up.
If you’re interested in dipping your toe in the water and finding out more, both classes are available in a free “taster” format on Sunday, September 19; Aquablast starts at 12.30pm while Pilates In The Pool begins at 1.15pm.
The regular, 45-minute Sunday sessions cost £4.20 each but swimmers who want to take part in Aquablast and Pilates will pay a special rate of £6.50.
Lesley McLaughlin, Leisure Centre manager, said: “This is a good way for people to work off the excesses of the summer holidays as well as keeping fit.
“The sessions will be informative, educational and great fun, too. Because they are held on Sunday, it’s the idea opportunity for young mums to do something for themselves.”
