Chair of Governors meets the Queen
SIR John Deane’s College Chair of Governors Lynda Allen has visited Buckingham Palace to receive an MBE.
Mrs Allen and other selected guests who were honoured in the Queen’s New Year’s Honours List, attended an investiture held by Her Majesty the Queen, on June 2.
“It was an amazing experience and I was very fortunate that Her Majesty the Queen was actually present at the ceremony, especially as it was the anniversary of her Coronation,” said Mrs Allen, from Sandiway, who was awarded the MBE for voluntary service within education.
Mrs Allen has served as a Governor at Sir John Deane’s College since 1991 and became Chairman of Governors in 1999.
She has also been the NW Region Governor representative on the Sixth Form Colleges Forum Council.
