Student Profile:
CHARLOTTE, from Christleton - studying French, German, Law, Economics
"I have really enjoyed studying French and German at Sir John Deane’s College. The language facilities, along with really supportive teachers made the transition from GCSE to A Level easier. Being a member of the modern foreign language student committee has also broadened my experience in College, enabling me to meet new people and play a role in the College community."

SJD Students have the write stuff
FOUR college students have proved they have the write stuff!

The English students, who are currently studying at Sir John Deane’s College, in Northwich, are to have their work published in a prestigious journal of creative writing.
Their pieces have been selected for inclusion in this year’s All Write! anthology, organised by the creative writing association at Manchester Metropolitan University’s Department of English.
The students are Andy Jones, who wrote Bloody Romance?; Frankie Bevis, who wrote Through Their Eyes; and Lenni Sanders, who wrote Age Of Consent.
Former SJD student Ross McCaffrey, who is now at University, is also included for his work, called Afternoon Tea and Iain.
All Write! 2010 will be launched in the events room at Waterstone’s bookshop, Manchester.
Sherry Ashworth, a Manchester-based writer who has written titles for young adults, and poet Mandy Coe, whose poetry has appeared on BBC TV and radio, will be guests at the event on December 4.
They will present the Sir John Deane’s students with a copy of the All Write! anthology.
The students’ work will also be entered into Manchester Metropolitan University’s Manchester Fiction Prize and Manchester Poetry Prize competitions, which run on alternate years and offer a first prize of £10,000.
Sue Harding, from Sir John Deane’s College, said: “Sir John Deane’s now has a reputation for excellent creative writers. Our students have tremendous talent and the aspiration to realise their potential on impressive stages.”
