STEPHEN, from Sandbach - studying English Lit & Lang, French, History
"I was first drawn to Sir John Deane’s College by its reputation. Now I am here, I enjoy the relaxed environment; It is nice to be treated like an adult. Studying English Literature is both challenging and rewarding. The course covers a wide range of literary forms – novels, drama, poetry – and it is great to be able to express your opinion on the texts you study."
‘Green Space Ranger’ in college
ENVIRONMENTAL Studies students were given a fascinating insight into the work of Cheshire West and Chester’s Green Space Ranger.
The students, who are studying A Level Environmental Studies at Sir John Deane’s College, learned about how Ranger Dave James looks after the local parks and green spaces.
During a 30-minute lunchtime talk, on Wednesday, February 2, Dave explained more about Northwich’s beautiful woodlands, which stretch to around 1,000 acres, and include 20 miles of footpaths.
He also showed how the area had dramatically changed at Anderton where the once industrial land had been transformed into a wildlife haven.
Students Tom Pilgrem, from Tarporley, Ollie Winnington, from Congleton, Charlotte Millward, from Weaverham and Mark Risk, from Weaverham, are pictured with Dave James, Cheshire West and Chester’s Green Space Ranger.
