Uniform Day raises charity cash for St Luke’s
AN Avatar, sumo wrestler and giant banana were among the characters who turned up to Sir John Deane’s College on Thursday, April 14.

They were among hundreds of students who donned fancy dress to take part in the college’s annual Uniform Day charity event.
All those who took part paraded on the college campus and the overall winners – Josh Healey, James Sharwin, Paul McDermott and Tom Clayton – were dressed as student ID cards.
The event was organised by the SJD Student Charities Committee and all money raised will go to St Luke’s Hospice, in Winsford. Proceeds were boosted by an additional donation by ISG, the organisation who have developed the college’s new building.
Sarah Trenbirth, a teacher at SJD who assists the committee, said: “The weather was kind to us so we were able to see all the characters in their full glory on the college field.
“Once again students pulled out all the stops to make it a fantastic and colourful day – and we’ve raised a substantial amount of money for a good cause.”
