| "Current Excavations in Egypt by the University of Liverpool" – Dr Glen Godenho NEW This presentation will focus on two current research projects, both of which are providing novel results. You will have privileged access to unpublished discoveries from the Liverpool mission to the tomb of Ankhtifi near Mo’alla (c. 2100BC, directed by Dr. Mark Collier), to the Liverpool excavations at the Ramesside fortress at Zawiyet Umm el-Rakham (c. 1250BC, directed by Dr. Steven Snape). You will see how we decide where to work, what techniques we use, what we discover, and what it all means. |

| "Discovering Watercolour Paintings in Eighteenth-Century England" – Dr Aimee Blackledge NEW During a period when large-scale oil paintings were exhibited to much acclaim at the Royal Academy of Arts in London, a new appreciation for smaller watercolour paintings began to emerge in the eighteenth century. This lecture will explore how the status of watercolourists and watercolour painting changed during this period. We will focus on the careers of Joseph Mallord William Turner, William Blake, Thomas Rowlandson and Robert and Alexander Cozens |
