Charity Christmas Concert 2011
|
SIR John Deane’s College was filled with cheer with 2 Christmas concerts to get visitors into the festive spirit. The concerts were held in the College’s beautiful new theatre and hundreds of people turned out for the events.
First to fill the theatre with a rousing chorus were the Adult Education Department’s Singing For Pleasure choirs. Their 2 hour spectacular featured a mix of festive carols, songs from stage and screen and well-known pop hits to get Christmas off to a flying start.
Thanks to part match funding from Barclays Bank the event raised over £3,000.
The money will go to Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity’s One in Eleven Appeal – aiming to raise £1million over the next 2 years to create a new Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Leighton Hospital in Crewe.

We can’t thank everyone enough as their generosity helped us to raise thousands of pounds for the One in Eleven Appeal. Special thanks too to our singing tutor Mel Levy and all the adult education department team.”
Laura Bailey, Fundraising Manager at Mid Cheshire Hospitals Charity, added: “We can’t thank Sir John Deane’s College Adult Education Department enough for raising such a fantastic amount.”
