"Sir John Deane’s has really helped me in my eventual transition to university. I have met a lot of inspiring new people both students and teachers alike, who have helped me to develop in my chosen subjects. It is a very friendly and constructive environment to work in, particularly the Art course, which encourages you to pursue your ideas with great freedom."
Music student is on a ‘sound track’
MUSIC student David Lowndes got a taste of the glamour of film-making when he took part in a special summer course at the prestigious Purcell School of Music, London.
David, from Congleton who is a student at Sir John Deane’s College, Northwich, was one of just 70 students from across the UK who was invited to take part in the week-long course.
While there he spent time with a team of young musicians and was tasked with composing the soundtrack for a five-minute film.
“The course was really good – I learned a lot about using recording equipment and it was nice working with people that share the same interests,” said David, who is currently studying A Level Music, Music Technology, Computing and Maths at SJD’s.
