SJD students excel in national biology quiz
A team of students from Sir John Deane’s College was amongst the top performers in a national sixth form biology quiz.
The college’s team of Jordan Byrne (previously from The County High School Leftwich), Rhys Williams (previously from The Grange School, Hartford), Jack Hoffman (previously from Hartford High)and David Nicholson (previously from Weaverham High) came fourth out of 23 sixth forms in the Society of Biology Annual Schools’ Sixth Form Quiz.
The event was held at the University of Central Lancashire with the top four teams receiving a prize for their efforts.
“We are very proud of the team. The organiser of the event praised the SJD team for their excellent team-work and ours was the only sixth form college amongst the prize-winners,” said Bev Goodger, tutor at SJD.
Each of the students received a copy of Chris Packham’s nature handbook and a Society of Biology mug.
