Students and staff celebrate fantastic A Level results
SIR John Deane’s College is celebrating a fantastic year with over 600 Upper Sixth students achieving a 98% A Level pass rate.
The College, which recently completed the development of its new £28million building, saw hundreds of students flooding through the doors to collect their results early on Thursday, August 18.
Andrew Jones, Principal of Sir John Deane’s College, said: “Our students have worked extremely hard and are once again celebrating an excellent set of results.
“It is rewarding for everyone to see so many smiling faces around College today, especially as there is so much competition for University places this year.
“I would like to thank the students for their dedication and also pay tribute to the hard work of the teaching staff, as well as the support we receive from parents and carers.”
Some 620 Upper Sixth students received their A Level results from SJD which is Cheshire West’s Sixth Form College and is attended by well over 1,300 students from across the county and beyond.
The College has delivered outstanding results for many years and this year over 20 subjects obtained a 100% pass rate.
The overall pass rate was 98% - with 9% of Upper Sixth students achieving the A star grade.
Over 1,900 A Levels were taken by students, and 30% of results were at A or A star grade.
