Have you  heard about Free Machine Embroidery and Feltmaking and would love to have a go?  Even if you haven’t heard of them already this course will teach you these skills and more….. from 3D feltmaking using a resist, applique, water soluble fabrics, embellisher machine (needle punch) to Nuno felting.  You will produce samples and then use your new skills to design and make you own projects; scarves, bags, pictures and more. 
Open to both beginners and improvers.
 
Materials will need to be purchased for this course. Some of these items may be purchased directly from your trainer. For more details please ask for a course information sheet.

TEXTILE DESIGN MATERIALS LIST

First and subsequent weeks
Sketch pad.
Notebook /jotter.
Good quality HB pencil.

Small fabric scissors with sharp points.
Quick unpick.
Small pack dressmaking pins.
Pack of assorted hand sewing needles.
Pack of sewing machine needles size 80/90/100.
1 metre medium cotton calico, OR cotton curtain lining.

NB: An explanation of the requirements for the second and subsequent weeks will be given at the first class

Second and subsequent weeks
Old towel.
Bamboo mat/blind. (Available from Argos/ Ikea/ Wilkinsons)
Piece of nylon curtain net (not lacy) or tuille/net approx 1 metre square.
Plastic jug or bowl suitable for hot water.
Fairy household soap or similar.
Rubber gloves if soap irritates the skin.
2 plastic carrier bags
Please bring spectacles if required for close work.

You will be advised at each class about materials/equipment required for the following week.

It should be noted that although some materials will be provided others will be available at cost from the tutor and others will need to be bought by students outside of college.
