Attendance
All students at Sir John Deane’s are on a full-time course and you must attend for the whole of each term except where specified periods of Study Leave for examinations are permitted. Success at this advanced level is very closely linked to continuity of study so it is essential that students maintain full attendance throughout their course and parents/guardians are asked to ensure that holidays do not intrude into the term. Any requests for absence must be made in writing to the student’s Senior Tutor at least four weeks in advance.
Publications
Students’ Planner and Students’ Guide
An outline of College events is published for students in the Students’ Planner. The Students’ Guide gives details of College procedures, regulations and services and current copies are available for inspection in the College.
Guide for Parents and Guardians
The College also publishes a guidebook, giving details of College services and opportunities, the commitment we expect from students, the support parents/guardians can give and our contact with them.
College Newsletter
The College Newsletter, Sixth Sense, is distributed to all students twice a year. The articles and information included within the newsletter are intended to keep students, staff, parents and the surrounding community up to date with the College experience and any developments. Articles from students are welcome and should be directed towards relevant members of staff.
