Student Charity Committee
What we do

We are a dynamic group of pro-active individuals with a social conscience. We try to develop links with the local community and also support national and international charities.
How we do it
The Charities Committee meets on a regular basis, decides which charities to support and organises at least one fundraising event per term – usually with a strong ‘fun’ element. Throughout the year the Charities Committee organise various fund raising events. In 2009-10, amongst other things, we organised a coffee morning in support of Macmillan nurses, a highly successful ‘Uniform Day’, when students and staff transformed themselves into a dazzling array of pirates, lollipop ladies, smurfs and more, raising money for Sport Relief; a ‘shoebox’ appeal in support of children in Romania; and a Christmas present wrapping service in support of the Imagine Appeal at Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.
We believe that our work is extremely worthwhile and are always keen to recruit new members.
