AMELIA, from Tarporley - studying Applied Business, Psychology, Theatre Studies, English Language
"I have thoroughly enjoyed studying Applied Business at College. It has taught me valuable life skills and how to interact with all types of people. The staff are extremely friendly and always willing to help which makes the entire college process easier to handle. I would always recommend Applied Business as a subject throughout the two years."
Former SJD students needed for Sports Fun Day
HAVE you ever represented Sir John Deane’s College sports t
eams?
Whether you played for the college football team in the fifties or netball team in the nineties…SJD wants to hear from you!
The college, in Monarch Drive, Northwich, is holding a fun Sports Afternoon as part of its 450th Anniversary celebrations.
And organisers are hoping as many past students as possible will take part.
Mike Baxter, who is one of the organisers of the event, said: “This academic year is the 450th Anniversary of the founding of Sir John Deane’s College.
“The College has an enviable sporting reputation and, as part of an ongoing series of anniversary events, we are organising a Sports Afternoon for current and ex-students who have helped to maintain this impressive tradition.”
The event is being held on Wednesday, July 9, at the college, from 1pm to 4pm. Past and present students will have the opportunity to play matches for fun in a range of sports from football and rugby to tennis and rowing.
To participate visitors will need to have represented the college at one of the following events (although badminton and tennis will be open to any ex-students):
- Men’s Football
- Men’s Touch-rugby
- Ladies’ Netball
- Mixed Hockey
- Mixed Rowing
- Mixed Swimming
- Mixed Badminton (open to any ex-student)
- Mixed Tennis (open to any ex-student)
Money raised from the Fun Day will be donated to the Sports Relief charity.
Mike Baxter added: “Places are limited so we are asking former students to contact us as soon as possible to reserve a place.
“In order to increase the level of participation, we are also asking people to contact their old team mates and encourage them to joinin too.”
