STEPHEN, from Sandbach - studying English Lit & Lang, French, History

"I was first drawn to Sir John Deane’s College by its reputation. Now I am here, I enjoy the relaxed environment; It is nice to be treated like an adult. Studying English Literature is both challenging and rewarding. The course covers a wide range of literary forms – novels, drama, poetry – and it is great to be able to express your opinion on the texts you study."

Kate’s Quays challenge

EIGHTEEN-year-old athlete Kate Howard has proved she’s not afraid of a challenge.

The Sir John Deane’s College Upper Sixth student finished eighth in the European ‘Biathle’ Youth A Championships held at Salford Quays.

The race included a 1,500m run, followed by a 200m swim in the quays, followed by a further 1,500m run.

Kate, from Ash House Farm and Boarding Kennels, in Darnhall, Winsford, is studying A Levels in Human Biology, PE and Geography and hopes to go on to university. As well as being a member of Vale Royal Athletics Club, she is also a keen hockey player.
