SJD's Carolyn gears up for second London Marathon
Library mentor Carolyn Dooley and her husband Brian are gearing up to run the 2018 London Marathon in just over a week’s time.
The pair are hoping to raise vital funds for the Air Cadets, 146 Northwich Squadron, which is staffed entirely by volunteers and provides a vast array of opportunities for young cadets.
Carolyn said: “We're both mad keen runners and having the opportunity to run the London Marathon together is a dream come true but at the same time we wanted to use the opportunity to raise some money for a good cause.
“We chose our local air cadet squadron partly as two of our kids attend but also because they are a hidden gem for the young people in our local community.”
Aside from helping support students here at the College, Carolyn is a keen runner with Vale Royal Athletics Club. She’ll compete in this year’s marathon having qualified for the British Championships, lining up right behind some of the world’s fastest marathon runners, including the likes of Mo Farah.
This will be Carolyn's second London marathon having completed the gruelling 26.2 mile course last year in an impressive time of 3:14:58.
