Students set their sights on University after week of HE events

HE Fair 2017

Around 50 of the country’s leading universities descended upon Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College for the annual Higher Education Fair last week.

Year 12 students were able to take time to talk to various representatives from univerisitues across the country, including a number of Russell Group universities, about courses, student life and opportunities, as they embark upon exploring their options for Higher Education.

Following the event, all students then had the opportunity to participate in a personal statement workshop, led by outreach staff from universities across the country, in preparation for making their HE applications next year.

Parents were also invited to a HE information evening lead by Deputy Principal Andrew Boden with special guest Liz Bromley, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Central Lancashire.

Andrew talked through the process of applying to University touching upon student Finance and Liz gave an informative talk on what parents and students should consider when choosing a university.

Andrew’s presentation can now be downloaded via the link below.
