Oxbridge Student Conference 2018
Next year’s Oxford and Cambridge hopefuls returned to college this week to take part in the 2018 Oxbridge Student Conference.
38 students were given a talk by keynote speaker and Sir John Deane’s Theatre Studies teacher, Rebeccah Homer, a former student of Jesus College, Cambridge. This was followed by a question and answer session led by conference organiser Thomas Marquand, who has himself gained a place at Queen’s College, Cambridge starting in October.
The session allowed former Sir John Deane’s students who are currently studying at Oxford or Cambridge, to share their experiences and give guidance for applications over the summer.
The afternoon activities had students discussing subject specific artefacts or problems and questions designed to stretch and challenge thinking and reasoning.
This conference is part of the developing Oxbridge programme to support students from Sir John Deane’s College who are applying to Oxford or Cambridge.
