Forensic expert inspires next generation of crime fighters

 Forensics talk

Students got an insight into modern day crime fighting during an expert talk on forensic science.

Dave Trussell, Forensic Operations Manager at Cheshire Constabulary, visited the college last month to shed light on life as a real-life CSI.

Students discovered a number of professional practices, including how to approach a crime scene, how to avoid contamination of evidence and how evidence is collected and recorded.

He also spoke about his experiences, which included being part of the task force of scientist who identified victims of the 2004 Boxing Day Tsunami, as well as practical tips on how to join the profession.
