The report stated:

We have become one of the first sixth form colleges in the North West to achieve the prestigious Matrix award for the quality of the help we give our students.
The Matrix quality standard has been awarded for excellence in the information, advice and guidance given to hundreds of adult education students that enjoy the college’s evening courses.
Sir John Deane’s College has welcomed many thousands of adult education students during the last decade and offers a wide variety of evening and weekend courses – from computing and languages to lifestyle and leisure.

Since national A Level exam league tables began we have been consistently ranked in the top 10 Sixth Form Colleges across the country for our results success.
In our most recent results we recorded a 98% pass rate – with an impressive 34 A Level subjects achieving a 100% pass rate (27% of results were at A or A*). We help set our students on a clear path to gain the best university places and the best careers.

SJD has a longstanding relationship with Oxford and Cambridge, both of whom welcome applications from the College. Our Oxbridge process aims to support suitable applicants and offers thorough preparation and guidance at both the application and interview stages. In recent years our students have been accepted to study subjects including medicine, biological science, architecture, languages, engineering, computer science, law, maths, philosophy, politics and economics.
This year’s successful Oxbridge students included – Nicholas Bushnell-Wye, Harriet Loney, William Bell, and Luke Cockerton.
Congratulations to our sporting teams who have done us proud in the North West College League. SJD hockey players dominated the league taking first place – and well done too, to our netball team finishing a creditable third place. Our first team footballers claimed third place and the second team claimed first place in their leagues.
Harry Pickup travelled to South Africa as part of the Great Britain Junior Baseball team.
Dafydd Shalders appeared in a professional production of Grease at the Palace Theatre, Manchester.
Ten bands from SJD, Leftwich County High School, Hartford High and Middlewich High competed in our ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition in April.
Our Annual Awards evenings are the perfect way to celebrate the achievements of our students and are an important part of college life.
