Astronomy - An Introduction
The science of the cosmos is fascinating, but it becomes even more exciting when you can see it all yourself and actually observe some of the evidence behind the theory. Each week, to enhance the teaching, there will be hands-on practical activities using demonstration equipment, astronomical computer software, illustrative models, internet research, and even some cutting out and sticking.
Students will also be invited to come observing in nearby Delamere Forest with a local Astronomy group. This will allow for some observing from a dark site, the chance to see and use a range of telescopes and other equipment, and the opportunity to meet other enthusiastic astronomers in the local area.
