Stage is set for Evening of Jazz and Soul

Talented singers and musicians from Sir John Deane’s Sixth Form College will return to Tarporley later this month to perform their much anticipated Evening of Jazz and Soul.

The dazzling event will take place at the Macdonald Portal Hotel, Golf and Spa on Thursday 25th January, featuring the acclaimed Sir John Deane’s Jazz Collective and 12 of the best student vocalists.

The audience can expect some blazing 60s soul with a touch of nostalgic classic swing from the likes of Glenn Miller and Ella Fitzgerald.  Favourites will also include I’ve Got You Under My Skin, by Frank Sinatra, Bring it Home, by Sam Cooke and Superstition by Stevie Wonder.

Alison Richards, Head of Performing Arts at Sir John Deane’s, said: “This event is one of the highlights of our performing arts calendar.
