Keeping our students and staff safe on campus

The College Day

The timings of the college day are different on certain days. Buses will leave 10 minutes after the end of each college day. The college site is only open to students from 8.00am to 4.30pm. Students are only permitted to remain on site after 4.30pm if they are supervised by a member of staff.

College Lanyard and Identification (ID) Card

We strongly value the safe and friendly environment of Sir John Deane’s. In order to maintain a safe and secure campus for all, we have a strict policy that all students must wear their ID and lanyard at all times whilst in college and on the college campus.

If students lose their ID card, a replacement card may be purchased from the college library.

Student Site Access

Students may access the main building from 8.00am to 4.30pm, and Block 10 from 8.30am.

Students must have their ID card on them to access the college building. If they forget their ID card, they will need to access the building via the front entrance to sign in.

Drop-off / Pick-up

If you are dropping off or collecting your child from the college, we ask that you do not stop on the main campus road for health and safety purposes.

The traffic barrier will be open every morning (8am – 9am) and afternoon from 2.30pm (12.30pm on a Wednesday) for drop-off and pick-up. There is a one-way system around the college and parents must only park in the spaces at the rear of the campus during these times.

If you are dropping off or collecting your child during the college day (9am – 2.30pm) the barrier will not be open and therefore you must park in the bus lay-bys, which are situated on the left and right of the main drive as you enter through the main gates.

Please note that the speed limit on site is strictly 10 mph.
